     Your Committee on Water & Land, to which was referred H.R. No. 185 entitled:

 

"HOUSE RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE THIRTY-DAY PERIOD FROM THE LAST SATURDAY IN SEPTEMBER TO THE LAST SUNDAY IN OCTOBER AS MALAMA PU‘ULOA MONTH,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to recognize the thirty-day period from the last Saturday in September to the last Sunday in October as "Malama Puuloa Month" and celebrate one of the first settlement sites on Oahu.

 

     The Oahu County Committee on Legislative Priorities of the Democratic Party of Hawaii supported this measure.

 

     Your Committee has amended this measure by changing the reference to Kalaiopuu to Kalaniopuu.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Water & Land that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.R. No. 185, as amended herein, and recommends that it be referred to your Committee on Finance in the form attached hereto as H.R. No. 185, H.D. 1.
