A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE STATE OF GOA, REPUBLIC OF INDIA.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     Section 1.  The legislature established a sister-state relationship between the State of Hawaii and the State of Goa, Republic of India through the adoption of Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 20, S.D. 1, H.D. 1 (2016).

     The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds to the department of business, economic development, and tourism for the establishment of a State of Hawaii sister-state office in the State of Goa, Republic of India.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $250,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2017-2018 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 for the department of business, economic development, and tourism to establish a State of Hawaii sister-state office in the State of Goa, Republic of India.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of business, economic development, and tourism for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
