RELATING TO THE TRAFFIC CODE.

Prohibits the use of dangerous wheels on highways.  Defines dangerous wheels as any part of a wheel or wheel ornamentation that extends past the wheel's rim and causes injury or property damage.

SB 345

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO PASSENGERS RIDING IN BED OF PICKUP TRUCKS.

Raises the age from twelve to eighteen of passengers permitted to ride in the bed of a pickup truck under certain conditions.  Deems passengers in the bed of a pickup truck to have assumed the risk of injury or death from an accident or injury occurring while the vehicle is in operation.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER LICENSING.

Creates a limited purpose driver's license, limited purpose provisional driver's license, and limited purpose instruction permit.  Provides that limited purpose driver's licenses, limited purpose provisional driver's licenses, and limited purpose instruction permits shall not be acceptable for federal identification purposes.  Requires satisfactory proof of identity and Hawaii residency.  Effective 1/1/2016.

RELATING TO TRAFFIC VIOLATION RECORDS.

Beginning on December 1, 2015, requires the removal of certain certified traffic abstracts records of all alleged moving violations for which the disposition of the case was "dismissed with prejudice" or "not guilty" that occurred more than ten
