Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURAL LAND USE.

Allows for the construction of certain traditional Hawaiian hale on land that is used for farming operations without a building permit.  Effective July 1, 2013.

Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURAL BUILDING PERMITS.

Provides, under certain circumstances, an exemption from building code and permit requirements for nonresidential buildings or structures on commercial farms and ranches located outside the urban district.

Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Repeals the ability to claim expenditures for regulatory processing, studies, and legal and other consultant services under the important agricultural land qualified agricultural cost tax credit.  This bill shall be effective July 1, 2013, and shall apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2013.

Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Authorizes the director of finance to issue general obligation bonds to fund capital improvements for the former Galbraith estate property.

Status

RELATING TO TARO LANDS.

Requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources and the Department of Agriculture to work with the Taro Security and Purity Task Force to identify taro lands, adjust lease rents, and modify lease qualification criteria.  Effective July 1, 2013.

Status

RELATING TO THE PROTECTION OF TARO LANDS.

Amends land use classifications to add taro lands to unique agricultural lands.  Requires retention of supporting structures for taro fields.  Adds growth and perpetuation of taro and crops native to Hawaii to agricultural planning policies.  Effective July 1, 2013.

RELATING TO THE PROTECTION OF TARO.

Includes taro lands and taro-growing structures as special agricultural lands to be protected from development.  Effective July 1, 2013.
