A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO SADDLE ROAD.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The legislature finds that late United States Senator Daniel K. Inouye was instrumental in obtaining federal funding for Hawaii, including federal highway funds for saddle road on the island of Hawaii.  To honor Senator Inouye's legacy, the purpose of this Act is to rename saddle road as the Daniel K. Inouye legacy highway.

     SECTION 2.  Route 200, known as saddle road, on the island of Hawaii shall be renamed the "Daniel K. Inouye legacy highway."

     SECTION 3.  The renaming of saddle road under this Act shall not be deemed to affect any federal or state funding for saddle road.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
