A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FORTY-SEVENTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2009-2010.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Hauula elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of faculty parking facility, new drainage system and flood control measures, and retrofit buildings for solar paneling.
Design $ 50,000
Construction 100,000
Total funding $ 150,000
B. Kaaawa elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of paved parking lot, eight-classroom building, wastewater septic system, and administrative, library, and cafeteria complex.
Design $ 340,000
Construction 3,400,000
Total funding $ 3,740,000
C. Kahaluu elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of parking lot and upgrade to school electrical system.
Design $ 50,000
Construction 480,000
Total funding $ 530,000
D. Ahuimanu elementary school, Oahu
Renovations and improvements to roof of school buildings and construction of new multi-purpose gymnasium.
Design $ 510,000
Construction 2,400,000
Total funding $ 2,910,000
E. Laie elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction of paved parking lot.
Design $ 42,000
Construction 420,000
Total funding $ 440,000
2. To be expended by the department of transportation:
Kahekili and Kamehameha highways, Oahu
Design and construction multi-use paths along Kahekili highway from the intersection with Kamehameha highway to the intersection with Haiku road, and along Kamehameha highway from the intersection with Waihee road to the intersection with Kahekili highway.

Total funding $ 1,350,000
3. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
Heeia state park, Oahu
Renovations and improvements to main roof, structural beams, and lanai roof of main hall building to correct long term termite damage and provide termite treatment of structure.

Construction 140,000
Total funding $ 150,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
