HB 1060 Threatens Assistance Program
HB 1060 jeopardizes federal appropriations for TANF, a program that is instrumental in providing assistance to needy families
by promoting job training and counseling, helping to prevent unwanted pregnancies, and encouraging the establishment of two-parent
families. The bill also requires legislative approval for certain actions by the Dept. of Human Services, thereby
increasing bureaucratic red tape that will likely lead to delays in providing timely service to needy individuals.
