The 2007 Legislative Session The members of the House Democratic Caucus stand ready to meet the challenges facing our State. |
|---|
The hard work and dedication of the people of our State, combined with the prudent stewardship of the Legislature, have engineered an economic turnaround that is nearly unprecedented in our State's history. However, we must not forget that prosperity and growth bring consequences and issues of their own. We cannot afford to become complacent, and ignore those who fall between the cracks of our economic recovery. We cannot afford to ignore the need for affordable housing, in light of skyrocketing real estate prices that "squeeze" the middle and working classes out of the dream of owning a home. We cannot afford to ignore the need to provide health care for our precious keiki, in light of rising health care costs. And we cannot afford to ignore the need to prepare our State for earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, and other natural disasters, in light of last year's landslides, earthquakes, and power outages. The House Democratic Caucus will continue to lead the way in finding solutions to these and other issues facing our people today. --------------------------------------------- Click HERE for Highlights of the Twenty-fourth Legislature.
